Dream Big

FullSizeRender (3)

Today I woke up inspired by a man who wasn’t afraid to dream. A man that dreamed beyond what others could see or imagine and he did not back down from that dream or allow that dream to make him feel inferior to others because it was so different but, he stood firm in that dream and he believed in it and put it out to the world with no shame, doubt, or concern about how others would view him. I am inspired today by Dr. King. Inspired that what he dreamed is actually now a manifestation. I want to encourage you Queen, Please don’t be afraid to embrace your dream.

No matter how Big or how different or far-fetched your dream may be, it is yours and it was given to you for a reason. Just like Dr King, Your dream can one day be manifested into reality. There will be people around you who may doubt you. Sometimes it may be the closest people to you. They will not understand you, they will not get your vision, they will think that your dreams are ridiculous and that is okay. Accept that it is not meant for everyone to understand the vision that God has given you and never allow their doubt to discourage you. Dr King had a dream that most people probably laughed at during those times but look at us today, we are living his dream. We are a product of the dream God gave him.

Once you are sure about your dreams and your goals put them into action. It’s not enough just to dream but, you have to put yourself in a position to make the dreams come true. I cant stress this enough. Dr King didn’t just dream for entertainment or just to escape his present reality but both him and his community put in work to make these things come true. You have that same power just on a different platform. I encourage you to make this year the best year of your life. I encourage you to make this the year of your wildest dreams. Make your dreams tangible this year. Nothing is impossible!

I have a dream that you will get everything you deserve this year, that your dreams will become your reality, and all your hard work will pay off! I have a dream that you will not hold meaningless conversations, that you will be focused and driven. I have a dream that you will prosper and you will be fulfilled, your worst days are behind you and your better days start now. I have a dream that everyday you will be inspired, you will not lose your momentum, and you will keep striving for greatness. I have a dream that you will finally see yourself as the Queen you are and you will stand up for yourself and not tolerate what you don’t deserve. I have a dream that you will believe in yourself the way that I believe in you, you will prosper, and you will go harder than you ever have and you will show the world what you are made of. I have a dream that you won’t just read my blog posts but, you will take these words and apply them to your life.

Happy MLK Day!

Love you Queen

Giving Season

IMG_2774IMG_2764IMG_2768It’s so rewarding for me to be able to give back to others this holiday season and it means even more to do it with my best friend. We are always looking for ways to be a blessing to others and give back to children who really haven’t been dealt the greatest hand of cards in life so last year we flirted with the idea of doing a toy drive but, this year we decided to go for it and put the plan into action and the support we have received was surreal.

We like to reach out to the children most of the world have a hard time understanding, the children that know what it’s like to struggle, the ones who are hoping and praying to get what they put on their Christmas lists. Those are the children we wanted to give to this year. We wanted to help the parents who work hard to do what they can to make ends meet in their homes. We wanted to be blessings to those families because believe it or not we know what it’s like to be in their shoes. It’s not all about the glitz and glam because we’ve had days where everything didn’t glitter like gold for us. We have always had to be ambitious and work hard for everything we have  and we just want to inspire children who have similar stories.

So we decided to start with this toy drive, we collaborated with a Regal Trace Apartments in Fort Lauderdale, Florida; a place that we were both familiar with growing up and they were eager to work with us. My super  dope brother (@Neweracheeseee on instagram) made an amazing flyer for us to spread the word. The support rushed in like a flood and people were contacting us daily excited to donate. We received a plethora of toys for girls and boys of different ages and our first annual toy drive was a complete success and I couldn’t be happier. The smiles on the faces of the deserving children is all that mattered to us. What better time to be a blessing than during the season of giving.

We received help and support wrapping gifts from our amazing volunteers @nandiedon @nikki_sashel @zrubio_12 and @heyykiara Thanks so much to you beautiful ladies for lending your time and effort we truly appreciate you. We can’t say thank you enough to our videographer who documented the entire process with such grace and professionalism @vocalnvisual you guys were a tremendous help!

Thanks to everyone who donated and supported, it means the world to us. Follow us on social media to keep up with footage and updates on this amazing journey @shanice_royal @victorialashae on instagram. Communicate with us daily on social media and give us your feedback!

Seize the Opportunity

IMG_8591Seize: (Verb) To take hold of suddenly and forcefully

Seize the opportunity, a piece of advice that has been passed down through generations and is often over looked and perceived as an average cliche. I’m writing this to remind you how imperative it is to take heed to this advice. We now live in a time where everything you dream of having is easier to achieve. I truly believe that your dreams are tangible no matter how magnanimous they are. All it takes is one opportunity and you could end up closer to your dreams than you ever thought you could be. How you handle the opportunity will make all the difference, so when I say seize the opportunity you better do just that. Take the opportunity by the horns and give it all you got, even if you’re not getting paid for it initially because it will pay off in the end. Before you can be presented with the opportunity you have to put yourself in a position to receive it. Im a living witness, I have constantly sent emails and reached out to individuals that I look up to asking for ways to work with them, even if it’s an internship. Sometimes you don’t get a response but the fact that I am willing to step out of my pride and put myself out there is my way of commanding the universe to shift things in my favor and this past weekend it did just that. I’m not sure if you know Yes Julz but, if you do not you should definitely get familiar with her because her work ethic is one of a kind and she is a force to be reckoned with. Well I have been following, supporting and being inspired by her for quite some time and this past weekend I had the opportunity to intern for her during Art Basel and the amazing people I met and positive vibes I experienced were out of this world.  I saw her stating that she needed some help for art basel and you know I had to take a chance and put myself out there. I didn’t hesitate, I emailed her immediately and I was eventually notified that not only myself but my best friend and I had both been chosen. So here I am being presented with the opportunity to help Julz for art basel. I didn’t care if I had to pass out flyers or staple some papers; I would give those flyers and that stapler all I had. With this opportunity I was able to network with people that I would not have ever met had I not put myself out there. This is what you have to do to get where you are trying to go. Humble yourself and put yourself out there! Network, never be afraid to meet new people or go up to someone and start a conversation. Don’t be afraid of rejection because you may get a plethora of no’s but all it takes is a yes from one person to take your life to another level. Put yourself out there to be noticed and when you get an opportunity give that opportunity all you  have to give. Whether you reap the benefits now or later put your best foot forward. I just want you to really be hungry and tenacious about your dreams. Don’t let anyone convince you that your dream is too big. You have the power in you to prosper at anything you put your mind to and I believe in you. Start sending out emails, going to events and meeting new people. Put yourself out there! Seize the opportunity because you may not get that chance ever again so give it all you got. I hope that I inspire you because that’s what I desire to do. I hope you leave this blog praying for opportunity and doing the work to make sure it happens because you have the power to do it! Thank you for reading Queen

Love you always, Shanice Royal

Being a Queen is the goal. Being a B*tch is a hassle.

FullSizeRender (4)

I’ve been so consumed with being a new mommy that I haven’t had time to sit and write but, I was determined to connect with you today. I hope you Queens miss me as much as I miss you. I wasn’t sure what I’d write about when I first pulled out my computer but I came across something on my instagram that I thought it was necessary to address. I came across a post of a young lady gloating about having a bad attitude and being unfriendly and I was just wondering why does she see this as something to brag about?

I’ve always heard young ladies say “I’m not friendly” or “You cant handle my attitude” and  never understood why being unfriendly and having a bad attitude is viewed as good attributes by some young black females. As if black women aren’t already viewed as angry and unapproachable, some of us flaunt it as if it’s a badge of honor and I just would like to understand why. Why is there anything wrong with being friendly and kind? You’d be surprised how many opportunities can pass you by because you have a bad attitude or how many divine connections you may pass up because you are unfriendly. You can not attract the right people in your life when you’re constantly shutting people out. The scripture says that God draws his people with love and with kindness (Jeremiah 31:3) so what makes you believe that you will attract the right people in your life by being the opposite?

Priding yourself in having an attitude that no one can “handle” does no good for anyone. Why do we as women, black women especially always feel like our attitudes are something that have to be “handled”? Why is it uncommon to be a pleasure to be around? Your man shouldnt have to handle you, you should be his safe haven and his place of peace. Please don’t get me wrong and take this as me telling you to be a push over. I don’t mean that in any way at all but, constantly being a tough cookie for absolutely no reason at all is exhausting to the person that has to deal with you.

There are people waiting to meet you and a great man waiting to love you but you have to be receptive. You have to be a woman. A woman who is soft, kind, sweet, and ready to receive. It’s okay to let your guard down, with the right people of course and just allow yourself to be kind and friendly. Pay someone a compliment or a smile instead of mean mugging and being rude, you’ll be surprised at the difference it’ll make you feel. Your loving and kind energy will attract people to you who are meant to be in your life. Do not allow the stigma of being hard and unapproachable block your blessings. Being a Queen is the goal being  a B*tch is a hassle. Save your self the trouble and lose the tough girl act because not everyone is out to get you.

Death to Excuses

“Excuses are tools of incompetence used to build monuments of nothingness.” This quote was relevant back in my junior high school days and holds even more relevance today. I have a hard time understanding individuals that habitually make up excuses for why they can not accomplish and fulfill their dreams. Every day I meet people that are comfortable with just enough, people that are okay with barely making it, and have settled for their dreams being just a dream. This is mind boggling to me! Why do you feel like you have to settle?  What is it that makes you think that your dreams are so far-fetched? How can you possibly be so comfortable with the little that you have?

Maybe I’m just different and if I am I embrace that wholeheartedly but, I need other queens to understand that your dreams are tangible. Many of us have dreams so enormous that it can sometimes become overwhelming and intimidating to think of actually accomplishing it at all. I understand that completely but, I’m here to let you know that it is possible! With the level of accessibility that we have to things through social media and the internet, everything is literally right at our fingertips. The thing that makes these dreams seem so intimidating is the fact that we are constantly focused on the overall goal and the endless list of things that need to be done to get there that we freak ourselves out. While it is important to keep the overall goal in mind, it’s also very important to make smaller goals to get there. Starting is the key! Stop thinking about it, stop stressing about it, and just do it! Set small goals for yourself and deadlines to accomplish those goals. Be proactive and productive and you’ll eventually begin to see that list of things to do get shorter, you’ll be closer to your dream, and that thing that once seemed impossible to achieve won’t be so intimidating after all. I know it all sounds so cliche but, it’s the truth!

The instructions are simple but, in no way did I ever mean for you to think that any of it would be easy. You must remain focused, driven, passionate, and work extremely hard. Success requires sacrifice, sometimes sacrifice can cause one to be discouraged but, keep in mind that in the end it’ll be well worth it. While everyone else is out spending their last popping bottles in the club you just keep grinding! The goal shouldn’t be to be rich because riches come and go; the goal should be to be wealthy. Wealth is a permanent state. It’s about leaving a legacy to past down to your children’s children. When you think about those sacrifices understand that the goal isn’t just about you, it’s about your legacy. There is no way that working for a legacy of wealth could ever come easy but if you really want it, it is Possible!

You have to want more for yourself because you deserve more! You do not have to settle and you should never feel comfortable with settling if you do because you posses the power to be greater! Often times there will even be individuals in our circles of influence that will try to put us in a box, convince us to dream on a smaller scale, and make us think that we’re being completely ridiculous for having such big dreams. If you never listen to anything I say listen to this, Do not share your dreams with small minded people. God gave you those big dreams because he is confident in your power and he knew that you could make it happen. Dumbing down your dream is basically a slap in his face, an insult to him. It’s as if you’re saying that he made a mistake, and we all know that’s not possible. If he has that much confidence in you why can’t you have that same confidence in yourself?

I see too many older women living regretful lives and complaining about their pipe dreams that never came true but, the truth is it’s never too late. As long as you have breath in your body there is still time for you to do what you always dreamed of doing. Don’t wait for things to come to you, go out and get them. Work hard, be authentic, and your gifts will make room for you. I believe in you Queen. You have the power to do and be anything or anyone you dream of! Now stop wasting time coming up with reasons why you can’t do it or why you haven’t done it yet and get to work.

If you ever need extra motivation I’m always here for you. Email me at Shaniceroyal92@gmail.com keep in contact with me on social media Instagram and Twitter at Shanice_Royal and Like our facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/Royaltycampaign Thank you!

Welcome Princess Skylar!

Originally I intended to approach a different topic for this post but, there was a turn of events in my life last week and I couldn’t resist the urge to express myself. On Monday September 21st at 6:11 a.m. I gave birth to the greatest gift God has ever given me, My daughter Skylar. I can’t quite put into words the magical moment of hearing her first cry, touching, kissing, and even seeing her for the first time. Everything about that moment still lingers with me today. I have heard stories about that moment from other mothers but, none of the words used to describe the feeling prepared me for the rush of spirit warming love I would feel when I first laid eyes on my child.

The crazy thing about it is, I wasn’t expecting her to arrive so soon because my due date wasn’t until Nov 6th but, she and God had other plans. I had been on bed rest for having a short cervix for 3 months so you can imagine how anxious I was to finally meet my baby (and get out of bed of course). I would cry to myself because I wanted to meet her and see her so bad and I guess the feeling was mutual because my water broke around 1:45am and by 6:11am she was here and she is beautiful.

Having a child puts love and life into a different perspective for me. I am so grateful and humbled to hold the title of a mother, I am so full of love and gratitude it brings tears to my eyes. I have also found a new appreciation for my mother who has been by my side through out this entire process. Having my beautiful baby girl has made me realize the power of love, The power of God. It is amazing to me how a pregnant woman can love their baby so much even though they never met. Putting your body through a complete metamorphosis and undergoing extreme labor pains (Yes, I had my baby naturally… as in No meds) for someone they have yet to see. It reminds me of the way Jesus sacrificed his life to save us because he loved us so much even though he hadn’t seen or met us; That to me is powerful. Love is powerful, Birthing life into the world is powerful and my baby has made me realize just how powerful I am. She was created out of the love her father and I share and it’s powerful to see our love evolve into another being. WOW.

Whether you are a young lady with children or not I just want to let you know that you are Powerful. You are truly amazing! Your body was designed in God’s perfect and loving image and he made no mistakes when he made you! I want to encourage you to operate daily in the spirit of love because love is also powerful. You are beautiful and you are worth it. I know this is not a typical blog post but, I appreciate you for allowing me to express myself (whether it makes sense or not lol). I am so happy to be a mommy and I can’t describe the feeling of looking at my lover with our daughter in his arms knowing that she has the most amazing father in the world. God has truly blessed me and I thank you for allowing me to share my feelings with you!

“When You Dress Well You Feel Better!”

In honor of New York Fashion Week I decided to write about one of my favorite topics in the world, personal wardrobe! There are a plethora of ways I could approach this topic especially since it’s one that is so close to my heart but, I’m not here to get everyone to dress like me. I just want to enlighten women on the importance of being yourself and dressing well. I believe that a woman’s confidence and self-esteem has an inundating affect on the way she dresses and vice versa! When you feel good you dress well and when you dress well you feel better. Many young women struggle with finding their own personal style and they find themselves going with the flow of whatever is hot at the time but, the reason why fashion is so ground breaking is because of those individuals who go against the grain. In order to discover your true personal style you have to first discover your true self. Once you are clear on who you are you will be able to express yourself through your wardrobe with confidence.

It saddens me when I look at a girl and I can tell that she is not only uncomfortable in her outfit but she is uncomfortable with herself. We’ve all seen her, that one girl in a group of friends so desperately trying to fit in but, her eyes are screaming help and discomfort is written all over her face. That’s the girl that I want to help. She’s like a butterfly still trapped in her old overdue worn out cocoon. I want to encourage her to take her time and find out who she really is so that she can blossom. I want to encourage her not to try to fit in at all but to adjust her wardrobe in ways that makes her happy, comfortable, and confident! Believe it or not it shows when you’re not confident in your own style and it is not cute at all!

I also want to speak to little miss raunchy, The one girl who wouldn’t know how to dress appropriate if it slapped her in the face! Girl we get it! We know you’re fine and we don’t need the constant reminders. Your wardrobe should be a reflection of your personality not a constant cry out for attention or a thirst trap for lust. Many young ladies get so upset about the way they are approached and handled by men but never stop to look at the ways men see them handling themselves. Maybe I’m just a little old school but, I believe in leaving a little mystery for a man to look forward to. When you give a man everything at once there’s nothing really left to appreciate. When every man has seen your jewels how can the man that you want to claim you feel any different from the next man. What’s really different from him and any other guy that gets to look at all your goodies for free?

Im not here to say you have to dress like a nun or never show any curves because I’m a curvy woman and I’m proud of my body. I’m just saying be a little discreet. Don’t show it all at once. A true confident and sexy woman can feel the same confidence in a turtle neck that she feels in a bikini. I’m a fashion junkie and I admire styles from all over the world but, there is nothing like a confident classic woman. If you aren’t sure how to make that change in your wardrobe to help you take your style and confidence to the next level, leave a comment or contact me directly via email or social media and I will help you! If you want advice on your style and how to switch things up, I am always here!
